Using your own words and terms

There are many times when I would see an image and see something interesting but don't know what it's called. I could spend some time to research the name. Sometimes it works, but often not.
- in some case, it might be something too obscure or abstract so there are no agreed-upon name
- in other case, my researching skill is not sufficient, especially for specialized terms.

So I just decided to name it myself, using my own words, relating to existing concepts that I do understand.

- It doesn't really have to be logical or anything. if it makes sense to me then it's ok.

In the context of collaboration and teamwork, I think it makes sense to use some kind of agreed-upon terms or standardized words. But in personal environment, I don't think that's needed.
The most important purpose of this garden is to collect my thoughts, communicating with an audience comes after that. For that reason, I will be writing using my own words and terms, and later connect them with existing terms as necessary.
I recently learned that people learn better if we create the connection ourselves. Taking notes in our own word. We might needlessly reinvent the wheels but the effects on ourselves are what matter. [[]]
